I was born with Amniotic Band Syndrome and later collected a handful of chronic illnesses, so I have a soft spot for characters whose bodies come with extra rules. They still get to be powerful, funny, messy, and loved on the page. In my books, magic does not fix everything, but it does reveal what people are made of. And romance does not require perfection to be real.
